Job summary

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Electrician to support the General Motors Global Technical Center, a prominent campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This role emphasizes a strong commercial/industrial background and comfort with high-voltage systems in a complex facilities environment. UAW journeyperson requirements apply, including an approved four-year apprenticeship or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Active State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license or Journeyman card.
• Minimum 7+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of NEC standards and electrical safety practices.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a skilled trades team.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Work with high-voltage systems (up to 480V), power distribution, switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and prints.
• Bend and install conduit; pull wire; install electrical fixtures and controls.
• Perform root cause analysis and advanced electrical troubleshooting.
• Utilize CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) for work orders and documentation.
• Test electrical components for voltage, current, continuity, and resistance.
• Support plant engineering and project teams on equipment installation and upgrades.
• Coach and mentor apprentices as assigned.
• Operate lifts, forklifts, and work safely at heights.
• Follow all GM Global Technical Center and Aramark safety policies.
