Job summary

CalPortland is seeking an Industrial Electrician's Assistant to support journeyman electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing high-voltage equipment and control systems at CalPortland facilities. This apprentice role focuses on learning complex machinery, automation infrastructure, and safety protocols within a regulated industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
• Ability to learn or read simple electrical diagrams or schematics.
• Capability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift heavy loads (frequent 75 lbs., occasional 100 lbs.).
• Able to read and comprehend electrical blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install lighting, outlets, and circuit breakers under supervision.
• Connect conduit ends and fittings under supervision.
• Pull wires to connection boxes and panels under supervision.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems in power circuits and control circuits under supervision.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment as needed under supervision.
