Morris Electric Inc. seeks an Industrial Electrician Apprentice for hands-on training on fresh water and wastewater projects. You will work with journeymen to learn electrical installation, conduit pulling, motor controls, VFDs, instrumentation, and control panels in an industrial setting.

We are seeking a motivated Industrial Electrician Apprentice to join our team working on fresh water and wastewater treatment projects. This position provides hands‑on experience in industrial electrical construction while working alongside experienced journeyman electricians and foremen.
The ideal candidate is dependable, willing to learn, comfortable working with their hands, and interested in developing a career in industrial electrical construction. Apprentices will have the opportunity to gain experience with electrical power systems, motor controls, VFDs, instrumentation, control panels, conduit installation, and process equipment used in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Without Apprentice License $18.00/Hr (We are willing to Sponsor your Apprenticeship)
With Apprentice License $20.00 +
Assist journeyman electricians and foremen with electrical installations on industrial construction projects.
Install and support the installation of conduit, wire, cable, and electrical equipment.
Learn to properly bend, install, and support various types of conduit.
Assist with pulling, routing, terminating, and labeling electrical conductors.
Assist with installation of motors, disconnects, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, control panels, and other industrial equipment.
Assist with wiring and installation of instrumentation and process control equipment.
Learn to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment schedules.
Assist with electrical installations for pumps, blowers, mixers, valves, chemical feed systems, and other water and wastewater equipment.
Assist with equipment startup, testing, and commissioning.
Learn to troubleshoot electrical circuits, motor controls, and industrial equipment.
Maintain organized materials, tools, and work areas.
Follow direction from journeymen, foremen, and project supervisors.
Follow the National Electrical Code (NEC), project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company installation standards.
Maintain a clean and safe jobsite.
Follow all company and project-specific safety procedures, including proper PPE and lockout/tagout requirements.
Learn and develop proper electrical construction techniques and industry best practices.
Perform other duties related to electrical construction as assigned.
Willingness to learn the electrical trade and develop a career in industrial electrical construction.
Enrollment in or willingness to participate in an approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program is preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with a team.
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Ability to work safely and responsibly around electrical equipment and construction activities.
Basic ability to read measurements and perform simple mathematical calculations.
Ability to learn how to read electrical drawings and plans.
Valid driver's license Required and reliable transportation prefered.
Previous electrical, construction, mechanical, or technical experience is helpful but not required.
