Job summary

Pratt Industries in Sandston, VA is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technician for 1st shift. The role is full-time, hourly, and pays up to $35/hour. Reports to the Maintenance Manager and includes benefits after onboarding.

The ideal candidate will perform maintenance on plant machinery, read electrical diagrams, troubleshoot components, manage work orders, and support safety and training initiatives. A HS diploma plus 5+ years of experience or equivalent training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Read mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• 5 years of experience or documented training.

Responsibilities

• Follow and ensure that coworkers adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components.
• Ensure that all work orders provided are completed as requested, or solution is reached.
• Maintain parts inventory.
• Complete all paper work and data entry as required.
• Assist in the training of coworkers.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Overview

Job Description

• Performs required maintenance on the plant’s building, machinery and equipment.
• Assists other maintenance personnel in performing mechanical maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Follow and ensure that coworkers adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
• Maintain a safe & clean work area.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components.
• Ensure that all work orders provided are completed as requested, or solution is reached.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or higher preferred, but not required
• At least 5 years of experience, or documented training.

Physical Demands

• The employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit.
• Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes (30 degrees – 110 degrees Fahrenheit).
