Job Summary

Specialty Granules LLC (SGI) is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Technician II for its Plant in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. The role reports to the Electrician Supervisor within the Maintenance Department and partners closely with Operations to minimize plant downtime.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, install, and demolish plant electrical equipment and machinery, including motors, panels, generating equipment, lighting circuits, and communication systems.
• Maintain the facility in an electrically safe condition and respond to process upsets with a sense of urgency.
• Comply with regulatory governing bodies and company safety practices for electrical installations, mining safety, and occupational health.
• Install new improvement projects throughout the plant.
• Work various shifts, including weekends, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus a minimum of four years of experience in a continuous process environment.
• Basic understanding of diagnosing and troubleshooting power and electrical controls using AC and DC voltages from 6V to 480V.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical theory and the National Electrical Code.
• Basic methods and procedures for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without an employer-sponsored visa.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with process monitoring.
• Experience with single and three‑phase AC motor controls, including MCCs, soft starters, and VFDs.
• Working knowledge of Allen‑Bradley controllers, I/O modules, and programming software.
