Qualifications
- Minimum five years experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, drives, and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or packaging equipment in a production environment.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and electronic systems on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with motors, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, drives, and automation systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and service manuals.
- Use testing equipment to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Assist with equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and validation.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, and commissioning industrial electrical systems and packaging equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. This position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment performance, and ensuring production goals are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with industrial automation systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Industrial Electrician with a strong background in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, automation, or packaging equipment. They possess advanced electrical troubleshooting skills and are comfortable diagnosing and repairing complex equipment issues in a fast‑paced production environment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Five (5)+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, drives, and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or packaging equipment in a production environment.

- Experience with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Exor, or similar automation platforms preferred.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Maintenance, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and supporting electrical and electronic systems utilized throughout manufacturing operations. This position supports production equipment, packaging systems, PLC‑controlled machinery, motors, drives, sensors, HMIs, and related industrial control systems while contributing to continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and electronic systems on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving motors, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, drives, electrical controls, and automation systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, blueprints, and service documentation.
- Utilize electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Assist with equipment installation, startup, commissioning, validation, and operational support activities.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and peripheral systems associated with production equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations as needed.
- Provide technical support to production personnel and operational teams.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, service reports, work orders, and related documentation.
- Support maintenance inventory management and communicate replacement part needs to leadership.
- Escalate complex technical issues through appropriate support channels when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and other facility‑specific safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, quality, and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and automation equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC‑controlled manufacturing equipment and industrial controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of motors, sensors, drives, HMIs, and control systems.

Overtime required based on business needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Associate Degree in Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, manufacturing, automation, field service, or a related technical role preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, automation equipment, motors, drives, and PLC‑controlled machinery preferred.
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Exor, or comparable control systems preferred.
The listed hourly base pay range is estimated and may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, performance, and demonstrated competencies. Base pay is one component of Pregis's total compensation package.
