Job summary

3M is seeking an Electrical Systems Technician in Ames, IA. The selected candidate will troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment, PLCs and robotics while maintaining safety and driving continuous improvement on the production floor.

The role requires a technical degree and at least several years of maintenance experience. Starting pay is $38.83 per hour, increasing to $39.92 after certification, with benefits and a substantial vacation/holiday plan.

Qualifications

HS diploma or GED required.
3 years Industrial Maintenance experience required.
Technical degree/diploma in Robotics, Automation Technology or similar program required.
Travel up to 5% domestically.
Relocation assistance not provided.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic equipment including drives, PLCs, robotics and electronics.
Promote safety and compliance in production through preventive maintenance and repair of critical equipment.
Support continuous improvement by implementing operator ideas.
Safely install, maintain, repair, move, replace, modify, troubleshoot, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial and commercial equipment.
