Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to lead planning, design, and deployment of capital and maintenance projects at the Dublin Mill. You will coordinate scope, budgets, procurement, and commissioning with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams in a high-output manufacturing environment.

The role requires a strong background in industrial electrical systems, project management, and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or process industry environment.
• Proven experience managing capital projects from concept through startup and closeout.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and power distribution.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, contractors, and technical resources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting and design software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, execution and commissioning of capital and expense projects.
• Manage multiple projects while ensuring safety, environmental, quality and budget compliance.
• Develop scopes, schedules, cost estimates and resource plans for projects.
• Provide technical leadership to project teams, contractors, and suppliers.
• Identify and procure electrical equipment, instrumentation, controls and systems for projects.
