Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to coordinate, plan and implement engineering projects within fixed objectives and dates. Reports to Maintenance & Engineering Manager.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in heavy industrial or process industries, and CAD/AutoCAD proficiency. PMP is a plus; experience with power distribution, instrumentation, and PLCs is valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in heavy industrial or process industries; Pulp & Paper experience preferred.
• PMI/PM Certification a plus; PMP preferred.
• Drafting and CAD (AutoCAD) training/experience.
• Experience in power distribution, process instrumentation, and control systems.
• Knowledge of distributed control systems and drives is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a working team member.
• Prepares estimates of time, costs, and manpower requirements.
• Provides technical direction to project team members.
• Locate, order/buy, and specify hardware/software equipment and spares.
• Outlines project requirements, assigns tasks and supervises progress to meet objectives.
• Inspect installations and observe operations for conformance to design and safety standards.
