Job summary

WestRock in Milpitas, CA is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to provide safe electrical support, perform preventative maintenance, install, service, and troubleshoot equipment in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical control systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, and be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings; PLC troubleshooting, and be able to work independently with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Trouble shooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery incl motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, controls, and power transmission.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiar with steam generating systems and safety compliance.
• Able to install and set up both A/C and D/C drives.
• PLC troubleshooting and problem solving with mechanical & electrical aptitude.
• Read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of power transmission equipment and bearings.
• Basic welding skills preferred.
• Familiar with pumps (air and electric).
• Ability to install and troubleshoot basic 3 phase motor control circuits.
• Knowledge of sensors and limit switches.
• Familiar with computers and Microsoft software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime
• High school diploma or equivalent Military training and/or Technical School preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of multiple operating machines.
• Maintain machinery in a manufacturing environment and drive productivity with rapid response.
• Utilize electrical/mechanical skills to support operations and safety compliance.
