Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Fresno, CA. The role focuses on electrical and mechanical support, preventive maintenance, installation, service and troubleshooting for multiple machines in a corrugated environment.

Candidates should have electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience (2–5 years), and familiarity with drives, PLCs, VFDs, relays, and 3‑phase power. Strong reading of schematics and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

2–5 years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience (strong electrical focus preferred).
Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including drives, PLCs, VFDs, servos, relays, 3-phase power, communication devices, and industrial control systems.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems down to the component level.
Strong mechanical and electrical problem-solving abilities.
Understanding of heavy rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Working knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, power transmission systems, and bearings.
Familiarity with sensors, limit switches, and general automation components.

Responsibilities

Provide safe and timely electrical and mechanical support in a corrugated manufacturing environment.
Perform preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, and troubleshooting for operating machines.
Read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics; interpret ladder logic; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
