Job summary

NSK Americas, Inc. in Columbus, Indiana seeks an experienced maintenance professional to troubleshoot and repair production equipment, building systems, and utilities.

You will perform preventive maintenance, document repairs, and manage spare parts inventory while working with maintenance and engineering teams to improve reliability and safety. The role requires working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and safety practices, with experience supervising contractors for utilities and life

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of building and fire codes in industrial environments.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety practices.
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and numeric control systems.
• Understanding of facility utilities including fire suppression, compressed air, HVAC and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct problems on production equipment, building systems, and utility infrastructure.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of production equipment including electrical systems and components.
• Submit change requests for equipment or process modifications with documentation showing improvements in reliability, quality, or performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, repair logs, and spare parts records.
• Develop and manage a spare parts inventory for components critical to plant operations.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering staff to enhance knowledge and problem-solving capabilities.
• Investigate recurring issues, implement root cause solutions, and contribute to preventive maintenance strategies.
• Participate in evaluation, installation, and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades.
• Coordinate and supervise outside contractors for service on building utilities, fire suppression systems, HVAC, and related infrastructure.
