Job summary

GreenWood, Inc. is actively recruiting an Industrial Electrical Journeyman for the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. This full-time, non-exempt role operates Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm with overtime as needed and no travel required.

The journeyman will install, monitor and repair electrical systems, follow blueprints and safety procedures, and contribute to a strong safety culture on site.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years combined training and experience in industrial electrical work.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors (electrical).
  • Able to make and understand mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication skills.
  • Relies on instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Experience supporting a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, lays out, installs, and repairs wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures and control equipment.
  • Follows sketches/diagrams/blueprints ensuring concealed wiring before finishing walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, and installs conduit.
  • Pulls wiring through conduit.
  • Splices wires and connects to fixtures and equipment.
  • Installs control/distribution apparatus and panels.
  • Connects power cables and grounding leads.
  • Tests circuit continuity with instruments.
  • Observes equipment for hazards and readiness for adjustments.
  • Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment.
  • Loads, transports and unloads tools, materials, and supplies.
  • Maintains tools and equipment.
  • Follows safety procedures and participates in toolbox talks.
  • This is designated as a safety-sensitive position.

GreenWood, Inc. is now actively recruiting applicants for our Industrial Electrical Journeyman position. We are looking for applicants who are interested in a Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt position at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. Employees normally work Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week and occasional overtime as needed. We are currently looking for an applicant who is interested in a position without the need to travel. GreenWood does not offer per diem at this job site.

The Industrial Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installation, monitoring and repairing the electrical systems of the organization.

Position Responsibilities - Essential
  • Plans, layout, installs, and repairs wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment
  • Follows sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules, and conduit benders
  • Pulls wiring through conduit
  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps
  • Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools
  • Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
  • Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems
  • Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Maintains tools and equipment
  • Wears personal protective equipment and uses safety equipment as required
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules
  • Rates information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked
  • Participates in daily toolbox talks
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
  • Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.
