Job summary

T E C Industrial is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support industrial electrical projects, from conceptual estimates through bids, ensuring budget control across all disciplines.

The role requires strong communication, pre-construction/estimating experience in commercial/industrial settings, and the ability to present estimates clearly to owners. Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office is essential, with LEED AP as a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required.
• Experience in pre-construction and estimating on commercial construction projects preferred.
• Having LEED AP / LEED AP BD+C Certification is a plus.
• Possess the ability to estimate all aspects of an industrial construction project, assemble into one budget, and present to owners.
• Must be able to view things from a construction business owner’s perspective and present accordingly.
• Strong construction computer software skills including the ability to use construction estimating software, scheduling, bid management, online plan rooms and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Attend Pre-Bid Meetings
• Perform a thorough review of the Project Specifications, Scope of Work and Drawings
• Organize Bid Documents in a Professional manner
• Maintain an Accurate Listing of Estimates and Due Dates
• Formulate and clarify questions during Bid Process to eliminate assumptions
• Develop a List of Clarifications and Exclusions throughout the Estimating Process for the Project Proposal
• Obtain Competitive Pricing on Materials for the Estimate
• Develop Estimate in a way that it can be reviewed with others for completeness
• Develop Estimate and Takeoffs so materials can be transferred into a purchase order at award
• Assist on-site Supervisor with RFIs and resolving design/installation conflicts
• Prepare estimate presentations and budgeting documents for client presentations
• Understand market labor and material costs affecting construction costs
• Communicate with Estimating Manager / Superintendents to review strategy for Complexity Factors and Special Equipment needs
