Here’s how an Electrical Estimator contributes to our team:

• Leads small to medium estimates or components of larger estimates, reviewing all bid documents.
• Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Completes full quantity take-offs of labor, equipment, and materials from project documents.
• Supports the estimate lead with tender forms, RFI requests, proposal requirements, and pursuit scheduling.
• Identifies risks related to project requirements, site, schedule, and market conditions, using contract terms to find risks and opportunities.
• Manages bid document control by organizing and archiving estimate information for project transfer.
• Performs bid-day tasks and assists estimators in closing various scopes.
• Builds strong relationships with stakeholders including estimators, bid runners, subtrade partners, and suppliers.
• Solicits competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers.
• Establishes a critical path schedule for estimates and pursuits.
• Leads a small team, mentoring and coaching indirect reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, trade experience, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of progressive construction cost estimating experience; 12 months of on-site experience preferred.
• Led pursuits valued up to $25 million across various delivery methods.
• Knowledge of general construction, including specifications, drawings, materials, and methods.
• Intermediate understanding of bid preparation, quantity takeoff, procurement, pricing, and bid procedures.
• Familiarity with different delivery methods: hard bid, GMP, unit price, design-build, target prices, and cost reimbursable.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and solicit subtrade and supplier quotes.
• Proficient in estimating software, Microsoft Office, and adaptable to new technology.
• Advanced knowledge of Electrical Construction standards: NEC, NFPA, CBC, UL, ISA.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, one-lines, P&ID’s, and engineering drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
