Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and review electrical systems for industrial projects in Sacramento, CA. The role involves load calculations, short circuit studies, voltage drop analyses, and coordination with fire alarm and data/telecom systems.

Responsibilities include field inspections, design reviews for conformance to codes, and providing technical support to maintenance teams across projects’ lifecycles. A BSEE and 4+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
Minimum 4 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed electrical design for small to mid-scale projects with load and short circuit studies.
Prepare and review drawings, ensure compliance with codes.
Conduct design reviews for large projects for constructability and conformance.
Provide field inspection and engineering support for electrical, fire alarm, security, data/telecom, and I&C installations.
Review power distribution and instrumentation drawings; identify energy conservation opportunities.
Lead project engineering efforts from initiation through implementation; support permit applications.
