Job summary

Shin-Etsu Silicones of America is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety professional to ensure a safe working environment and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes collaboration with plant operations and cross‑training opportunities across environmental initiatives on the Akron campus.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of OSHA standards, 2 years of industrial safety experience, and the ability to develop training programs and drive continuous improvement in safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• 2 years of health and safety experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Proficient understanding of OSHA standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Partner with plant operations as SME on interpretation of health and safety regulations.
• Align HSE objectives with business goals and strategies.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local health and safety regulations.
• Build relationships with regulators (OSHA, BWC, local fire dept, etc.).
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for health and safety policies.
• Develop and manage employee training programs (New Hire, Emergency Action Plan, PPE, etc.).
• Drive compliance and environmental performance enhancements.
• Coach employees on accountabilities and safety programs.
• Support Akron campus manufacturing floor safety and audits.
• Coordinate procurement of safety supplies and PPE.
