Job summary
Austin Powder Company is seeking an E&I Technician to support electrical and instrumentation systems across our Ohio plant. The role collaborates with operations, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams and reports to the E&I Maintenance Supervisor in McArthur, Ohio.
The position emphasizes diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance on motors, drives, MCCs, and instrumentation, and ensuring control system reliability in a dynamic industrial setting.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years as an I&E/controls/automation technician or similar role.
- Experience with industrial PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency with multimeters and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with CMMS and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Experience with robotics is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems up to 480V.
- Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, ohm meters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, drives, and MCCs.
- Troubleshoot and repair VFDs and motor control circuits.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation.
- Perform loop checks, instrument calibrations, and verification of control system functionality.
