Job summary

Autonomy Staffing in Spartanburg, SC seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for a direct-hire, with a contract-to-hire path. The role focuses on instrumentation and electrical systems, including transmitters, valves, RTDs, thermocouples, and related field devices.

Strong troubleshooting and plant problem-solving skills are essential. You will handle loop checks, P&ID verification, and instrument calibration, while reading electrical drawings and maintaining electrical distribution

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience focused on instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of motors, MCC panels, power distribution, and lighting.
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical drawings, P&IDs, and schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting instrument loops and root-cause analysis.
• Proficient with hand tools, electrical test equipment, and power tools.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs, climb ladders up to 20 ft.
• Wearing PPE including FRC, face shields, respirators, and safety harness.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Minimum 2 years electrical or instrumentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems throughout the plant.
• Maintain and calibrate field instruments including transmitters, control valves, RTDs, thermocouples, and flow meters.
• Service and maintain motors, MCC panels, lighting, and other electrical distribution equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC drive systems and inverters.
• Support loop checks, P&ID verification, and instrument loop troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Perform bench rebuilds and repairs on instrumentation components and control valves.
• Execute Safe Work Permit processes including LOTO, Hot Work, and Confined Space entry.
• Document all work activities, time, and findings in SAP.
• Participate in on-call/duty rotation approximately 4–5 times per year.
