Job summary

Sofidel America, a leading paper products manufacturer, is expanding its Duluth facility and seeking an E&I Technician. The role focuses on electrical/instrumentation maintenance to keep plant equipment safe and reliable, including PLC/DCS programming and diagnostics.

The position offers a 12-hour swing shift and opportunities for hands-on improvements within a team-driven environment. Candidates should have a technical certificate, solid industrial electrical background, and experience with

Qualifications

Two-year technical certificate or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics.
Minimum one year of strong industrial electrical background in manufacturing.
Experience with variable frequency drives and smart field instruments (pressure, flow, temp, level, transmitters, positioners) is needed.
Understanding of PLC/DCS systems and reading electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

Observe and follow safety regulations and plant procedures, including PPE requirements.
Participate in safety training and safety engagement activities.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in the facility using appropriate tools and software.
Test and troubleshoot process instrumentation such as flow meters and transmitters.
Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and user manuals; repair and maintain control systems.
Program, troubleshoot, and repair PLC/DCS systems; collect PLC data to monitor efficiency.
Coordinate with management/engineering on projects and improvements.
Maintain documentation to ensure correct control procedures and up-to-date drawings.
Collaborate with contractors and vendors to improve efficiency and output.
Adhere to safe work practices and maintain product quality.
