Job summary

Towlift, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Door Technician to diagnose and repair loading docks, industrial doors, high-speed doors, and related equipment across customer sites in Cleveland, OH.

A company service truck and stocked parts are provided to perform repairs. The role requires a minimum of 3 years in maintenance/repair, with preference for dock equipment experience, electrical knowledge, and ability to work safely at heights.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance and repair experience in a service technician role, preferably within the material handling industry.
  • Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining commercial dock equipment and overhead door systems is strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical ac/dc systems up to 480 volts, hydraulic, and mechanical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots customer breakdowns; provides proper repairs to minimize equipment downtime and initiates estimates for repairs on site.
  • Performs routine scheduled maintenance including inspections, repairing and replacing defective parts, lubricating parts, and repairing electrical equipment.
  • Maintain a company service vehicle and parts inventory.
  • Maintain positive customer relations and approach all situations in a tactful and professional manner.

Industrial Door Technician - Cleveland, OH

Compensation Range: $24 - $34/hour based on experience level, $2,000 Sign-on Bonus

Job Summary

The Industrial Door Technician is responsible for the diagnosis and repair of loading docks, industrial doors, high-speed doors, compactors, balers, and other warehouse equipment at our customer locations. The Industrial Door Technician will be provided a company service truck with parts inventory to provide repairs.

Essential Functions
  • Answers phone calls from technicians and customers, providing technical support to fix issues.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots customer breakdowns; provides proper repairs to minimize equipment downtime and initiates estimates for repairs on site.
  • Performs routine scheduled maintenance including, but not limited to, standard inspections, repairing and replacing defective parts, lubricating parts, and repairing electrical equipment.
  • Perform planned maintenance services and breakdown repairs.
  • Maintain a company service vehicle and parts inventory.
  • Ability to work in various heights and confined spaces.
  • Ability to work safely on a ladder.
  • Perform in a team environment.
  • Reports any safety violations or incidents to the dispatcher/supervisor immediately.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Maintains professionalism on the job at all times.
  • Is reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
  • Maintain positive customer relations and approach all situations in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical training preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance and repair experience in a service technician role, preferably within the material handling industry. Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining commercial dock equipment and overhead door systems is strongly preferred.
  • Other maintenance experience will be considered (military, automotive/diesel, building maintenance, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical ac/dc systems up to 480 volts, hydraulic, and mechanical operations.
  • Welding experience is preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Dock leveler and roll-up door experience preferred.
  • Additional training will be provided.
Additional Requirements
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Ability to tow a trailer preferred.
  • Occasional overnight traveling may be required. Some weekends and after-hours work may be required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
