Job summary

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation in Phoenix seeks an Industrial Designer II to develop drawings, high fidelity renderings, and concept models of outer designs for guitar amplifiers, speakers and electronics products. You’ll work closely with the VP of Design and cross-functional teams.

Research materials, propose manufacturing processes, produce presentation renderings, and collaborate with engineering, product marketing, and vendors on design decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and CAD tools.
• Strong sketching ability and color sense; familiarity with Cintiq.

Responsibilities

• Develops overall product design concepts from PRD inputs.
• Conducts user studies and communicates results to R&D and Product Team.
• Designs front and rear panels, materials, finishes for guitars/amplifiers.
• Collaborates with engineering and marketing on new projects.
• Creates presentation renderings for marketing and product reviews.
• Assists graphic designer and writers as needed.
• Coordinates with vendors for materials used in cosmetics.
