Flight is hiring its first Industrial Designer!

The project is a road-capable aircraft.

This is an opportunity to join a world-class team of engineers, led by a repeat founder, at the earliest stage of the company.

The successful candidate must demonstrate that they are a world-class industrial designer with direct experience working on automotive or aerospace projects.

This is a contract-to-hire position; we’ll work together on a contract basis, and you will have the opportunity to join the team full-time if things works out. You must be able to work at a pace that enables you to keep up with the team. We move fast.

We’re looking for someone who can work with real-world engineering requirements; this isn’t a video rendering, it’s a real vehicle. We want you to show that you can cram a massive amount of wing and fan area into a package that fits into a single NHSTA highway lane. Your application should include at least one design that demonstrates this capability.

Can you design a vehicle that can be used by real people? Your designs should consider how the pilot would interact with the vehicle. For example, how do they get into the vehicle, how do they fit in the cockpit, what are their sightlines?
