Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Industrial Design Engineer to lead cross-functional design and deployment of solutions for material handling systems across multiple building types. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and external partners to define problem statements, write specs, and scale new technologies.

The role requires strong technical problem solving and project management in a fast-paced environment, with up to 50% travel and relocation flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and critical path.
• Experience using MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software.
• Experience in Design/Innovation, R&D, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work.
• Lean/Six Sigma or related process improvement to increase efficiency; data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development of solutions for material handling equipment lifecycle challenges.
• Provide technical leadership across engineering, operations, and vendors.
• Define technical specifications and drive deployment of equipment evaluations.
• Balance business value with technical risk in decision making.
• Travel up to 50% and collaborate with multiple sites across North America.
