A day in the Carpenter ShopStep onto the shop floor and start by reviewing the day’s orders. You’ll study templates, pull measurements, and select materials. With precision, you’ll cut lumber to spec, assemble sturdy crates, skids, and wooden boxes, and add custom inserts so each part ships protected. Once built, you’ll mark each crate—stamping, stenciling, and labeling—so it moves seamlessly through shipping. After packaging finished products, you’ll verify contents against pick lists, prioritize what needs to go first, and stage outbound loads. You’ll also pivot to support the dock: preparing and processing shipments, receiving and inspecting incoming goods, and keeping inventory records accurate and up to date. What you’ll build and supportCrates and skids using shop templates and set measurementsCustom wooden boxes, cutting pieces to length and creating protective insertsClearly marked packaging via stamps, stencils, and labelsFinished-goods packaging, content checks, and order prioritizationOther carpentry projects (shelves, cabinets, display cases) with paint/varnish as neededBackup coverage for shipping and receiving when requiredTools and equipment you’ll handleTable saws, nail and staple guns, cranes, and precision measuring toolsWarehouse equipment operated safely and efficiently—experience with both sit-down and stand-up equipment is requiredWhat you bringHigh School Diploma or GED1–3 years in a manufacturing setting working with saws, nailers/staplers, cranes, and measurement toolsBackground in shipping, receiving, and warehouse processes in manufacturing preferredStrong organization and time management; able to prioritize and meet deadlinesMeticulous attention to detail and accuracy in packaging and documentationClear communication and a collaborative approachWhy DuramaxEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(k) + Profit SharingFull Benefits from Day 1PTO, Tuition Reimbursement & Career GrowthIf you take pride in craftsmanship and enjoy seeing your work ship out safely, you’ll thrive here.
