Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in New Whiteland, IN is seeking a Carpenter to join our team. You will handle crating, receiving, packing, inventory and shipping of storage, display, production, and sales machines and parts.

The shift is 3:00PM–1:00AM, Monday–Thursday, with pay of $26.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift premium and safety shoe reimbursement. A strong background in carpentry and tool use is required, with a high school diploma preferred. DHL offers extensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

• Experience and expertise with carpentry tools.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Crating receiving, packing, inventory and shipping of storage, display, production and sales machines, components and parts.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Crating and blocking of crates; crate planning.
• Maintain tools and carry out preventive maintenance program.
• Train back up and support team as needed.

Role Purpose

Responsible for materials management, tools, unloading/loading, set up and breakdown in the completion of carpentry support of Crating; Receiving, Packing, Inventory, and shipping of storage, display, production, and sales machines, components, and parts.

Key Accountabilities

• 100% crating of all large spares order, equipment, and tooling.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Blocking and bracing of containers (2 to 4 per year).
• Managing crate planning.
• Completes standard crates for inventory.
• Maintains, Repairs, stocks used crates from IB and other sources.
• Maintain tools and carry out preventive maintenance program.
• Maintain lumber minimum stocks, inventory, and place replenishment orders with supervisor.
• Ensure all safety equipment is in proper working order.
• Complete required reports.
• Perform additional duties as required by management.
• Train back up.

Required Education and Experience

• 5+ years of previous carpentry experience
• Experience and expertise with all manner of carpentry tools
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
