Job summary

NR Consulting in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Proposal / Applications Engineer to design technical and commercial control-system solutions for industrial opportunities. You will work with customers, Sales, Engineering, suppliers, and internal teams to interpret requirements, define scope, develop control concepts, prepare estimates, and deliver competitive proposals.

The role requires a BS in Electrical/Mechanical/Controls Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in automation, electrical

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Mechanical/Controls Engineering required.
3+ years of relevant engineering experience in industrial automation, controls, electrical systems, instrumentation, or related industrial environment.

Responsibilities

Review customer specifications and define project scope.
Develop control system concepts, architectures, and instrumentation requirements.
Prepare technical scopes, cost estimates, quotations, and proposal content.
Estimate equipment, materials, engineering labor, programming, testing, and field costs.
Coordinate with Sales and Engineering to develop technically sound, competitive alternatives.
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and coordinate clarifications with vendors.
Participate in customer discussions, proposal reviews, and handoffs for awarded projects.
Maintain proposal templates and estimating tools to improve accuracy.
