Job summary

E Tech Group currently seeks a skilled Controls Engineer to design, implement, test, and startup automation solutions for metals industry projects. You will work with project managers and engineers, detailing status updates and delivering high-value control systems.

The role focuses on developing system architecture, configuring drives and panels, and leading field start-up testing while mentoring junior engineers. On-site in Portage, IN with off-shift options to fit project needs.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering degree or equivalent educational background.
• 3+ years of experience with AC or DC motors and drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Industrial automation experience and knowledge of PLC, VSD, and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of automation and control systems for metals industry applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and other support teams to ensure successful project completion.
• Responsible for project budget and schedule requirements.
• Develop and maintain standards and best practices.
• Develop system and communication architecture for industrial control projects.
• Specify and configure hardware components such as AC/DC drives, switchgear and control panels.
• Perform functional testing of electrical and control systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Generate functional requirements documentation and test procedures.
• Support the sales team in developing technical solutions.
