Job summary

E Tech Group in Indiana is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design and implementation of automation and control systems for metals industry projects. You will work with project managers and other engineers to deliver high-value solutions, including testing and startup, and provide guidance to junior engineers.

This position involves travel up to 30% to customer sites and other E Tech Group locations, with opportunities for growth and professional development within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering degree or equivalent educational background.
• 5+ years in AC/DC motors and drives, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Industrial automation experience.
• Extensive knowledge of PLC, VSD, SCADA systems.
• Strong software and data communication problem-solving skills.
• Lead field start-up testing, drive setup, site acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation and control systems for metals industry applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to ensure project success.
• Manage project budget and schedule requirements.
• Develop and maintain standards and best practices.
• Develop system and communication architecture for industrial projects.
• Specify and configure hardware components (AC/DC drives, switchgear, panels).
• Perform functional testing of electrical and control systems.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Support sales in developing technical solutions.
• Act as an ambassador for core values and client success.
