Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to own the full lifecycle of industrial control panel design in Berkeley. You’ll refine schematics in EPLAN, select high‑voltage components, and coordinate with fabrication partners to deliver compliant builds.

You’ll define HV test plans, collaborate with mechanical for enclosures and thermal management, and participate in DFMEA to mitigate failure modes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• Experience designing industrial control panels per NEC and UL 508A.
• Hands-on HV testing and safety protocol adherence.
• Vendor management across design, fabrication, and acceptance milestones.
• Familiarity with PLM (Arena/Teamcenter) and Jira/Jama requirements.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design of industrial control panels aligned to NEC (NFPA 70) and UL 508A.
• Create complete schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs in EPLAN or equivalent.
• Component selection incl. breakers, fuses, drives, transformers, rectifiers.
• Define high-voltage test procedures: hipot, insulation resistance, functional tests.
• Collaborate with mechanical on enclosures and thermal management for integration.
• Oversee vendor fabrication shops from concept through acceptance.
• Contribute to DFMEA and drive mitigations; ensure wire sizing and coordination.

Step Into the RoleFrom your first week, you’ll take ownership of the full lifecycle of industrial control panel design. Your mornings might start in EPLAN refining schematics and layouts; by afternoon, you’re selecting breakers, fuses, drives, transformers, and rectifiers, confirming coordination and wire sizing, and syncing with fabrication partners to turn your designs into reality.
