Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA seeks industrial control engineers to join the Cyber and Infrastructure Resiliency program. You will contribute to research and development for cybersecurity of critical infrastructure within the National Security Engineering Division.

Qualifications

• Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or another technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in design, setup, programming, operation, and maintenance of industrial control systems including PLCs, Ladder Logic, DDC, and SCADA.
• Experience in troubleshooting operations and communications system for industrial control systems, with a focus on OT and IT network integration.
• Experience in OT operations, with responsibilities in PLC or DDC operation, networking, and PC system administration.
• Experience utilizing scripting or programming tools to automate system deployment and data collection and build custom system integrations.
• Ability to manage concurrent technical tasks with competing priorities and meet deadlines that are important to project success with minimal guidance.
• Experience providing innovative approaches and applying new technologies to broadly defined tasks and projects.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work with all levels of personnel in a diverse team environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze industrial control and SCADA networks to identify vulnerabilities and indicators of compromise.
• Plan and execute testing and validation of new industrial control network characterization tools and simulations.
• Prepare and contribute to presentations communicating results to sponsors and stakeholders.
• Provide solutions to moderately complex problems as an effective team member.
• Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge and recommendations.
• Work independently under limited direction and as part of a team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• SES.3 duties: lead complex project scopes, provide technical direction, present findings, and develop proposals.
