Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in Arden, NC is seeking an Electrical Test Specialist to own final inspection and functional testing of power distribution assemblies. You will translate schematics into test setups, validate performance, and ensure shipments meet engineered specifications and customer expectations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in power or electrical distribution, and proven ability to troubleshoot complex circuits; experience reading

Responsibilities

• Own final inspection and functional testing for structures, units, panels, and complete assemblies.
• Translate schematics and instructions into precise test setups and procedures.
• Diagnose test failures, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with Engineering, Quality and production leadership.
• Support customer inspectors and verify orders are complete and compliant.
• Drive continuous improvement across assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing; document all changes and repairs.
• Maintain test equipment and calibration; produce accurate records and reports.
• Model safe work practices, PPE use, hygiene, and housekeeping.

As an Electrical Technician I, you will champion product integrity—validating performance, refining processes, and ensuring every shipment meets engineered specifications and customer expectations.

Your impact

• Own final inspection and functional testing for structures, units, panels, panelboards, component parts, controls, and complete assemblies.
• Translate schematics and engineered instructions into precise test setups and procedures.
• Diagnose test failures, uncover root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with Engineering, Quality, and production leadership.
• Support customer inspectors and verify orders are complete and compliant.
• Drive continuous improvement across assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing; document and confirm all required changes and repairs.
• Maintain test equipment and calibration; produce accurate records and reports.
• Model safe work practices, PPE use, hygiene, and housekeeping.

Schedule and compensation

• Shift: 3:30pm – 2:00am
• Rate: $26.50 per hour
• The pay rate is a benchmark; actual compensation reflects experience, skillset, qualifications, and market/business conditions.

Where you’ll work and eligibility

Arden, NC facility (Power Distribution and Control Assemblies). No relocation provided; applicants must reside within 50 miles of the site. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the 50-mile requirement.

Preferred credentials

• Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology/Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or related field. 1 year of schematic reading/interpretation experience.
• Experience testing open and energized electrical equipment.
