Job summary

Valor Contracting seeks a Construction Superintendent to lead safety, supervision, scheduling, and QA across upper Midwest sites, starting in Duluth, MN. Travel to industrial facilities and commercial projects is required, with a company vehicle and lodging support provided as needed.

The role oversees subcontractors, ensures quality, and maintains detailed reports, schedules, and documentation while mentoring crews and coordinating with management to meet budgets and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in industrial construction with 3+ years on-site supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and OSHA 10, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
• Proficiency in scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and project documentation.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and submittals.

Responsibilities

• Lead jobsite safety orientations and weekly safety meetings.
• Create JHAs with craft teams and review subcontractor JHAs.
• Ensure subcontractor safety plans and SDS are available and followed.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures on-site.
• Develop material handling and site utilization plans for project areas.
• Coordinate with Project Management on material requirements, RFIs, and field needs.
• Communicate the project plan to subcontractors and adjust as necessary.
• Create and maintain the master project schedule.
• Schedule and lead weekly meetings with subcontractor foremen.
• Mentor Field Engineers, Foremen, and craft personnel.
• Track timekeeping and cost data for site activities.
• Oversee material receiving and QA inspections.
• Develop and implement hoisting, lifting, and access plans.
• Maintain daily logs and photo documentation.
• Perform additional duties to support project success.
