Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction seeks a Project Manager to lead design/build industrial projects in Chicago, IL. You will manage preconstruction through closeout, develop budgets with the design team, and negotiate contracts with clients and vendors.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering or related field and 2–5 years of construction mgmt/engineering design experience, with proficiency in MS Project and the usual MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years’ construction management or engineering design experience.
• Experience on ground-up commercial, light industrial, multi-family, hospitality, or entertainment construction projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from preconstruction to closeout.
• Develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget with clients/design team.
• Review scope, discuss cost-reduction ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for trades/vendors.
• Identify opportunities to procure materials/equipment to support budget/schedule.
• Develop and review subcontractor scopes, schedules, and site logistics with the Project Superintendent.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subs, and vendors.
• Lead on-site OAC meetings during construction to discuss progress and challenges.
• Track project performance vs. budget; prepare pay applications and progress billing reports.
• Find ways to make construction enjoyable for clients and teams without compromising quality or safety.
