Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Operations Director for the Industrial team. The role requires 15+ years of construction project management experience, LEAN/IPD familiarity, and strong leadership. Travel up to 75% and ability to work from remote offices or job sites are essential.

You will oversee multiple project executives and staff, guide strategic growth, manage risk, and drive value engineering while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction across varied assignments.

Qualifications

Education: An industry related bachelor's degree is required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Ensure all projects are successful in developing a strong safety culture, quality, profitability, and schedule.
Partner with business development to pursue opportunities and maintain relationships.
Oversee project from preconstruction through closeout, including schedules, budgets, contracts and change orders.
Identify qualified staff for projects and plan recruitment to fill gaps.
Identify training gaps and opportunities for operations staff.
Drive value engineering and identify scope reduction opportunities.
Lead dispute resolution among subcontractors, vendors, architects and owners.
Develop and mentor direct reports and foster a collaborative team culture.
