Job summary

Thompson Turner Construction is seeking an estimator with thorough knowledge of all processes to complete a project. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates, applying knowledge of materials and equipment costs.

You will help ensure safety and regulatory compliance, coordinate with supervisors and subcontractors, and contribute to the financial success of Thompson Turner Construction.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent and experience preferred.
• 5-7 years minimum experience supervising and being responsible for building k-12 schools, municipal buildings and industrial buildings.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities of workers for construction of Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings and conventional steel buildings.
• Plans procedures for construction based on schedules and staffing requirements.
• Assembles team members at project start.
• Orders tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Coordinates with supervision and subcontractors to prevent delays.
• Resolves complaints and grievances within the workforce.
• Interacts with engineers and suppliers to resolve problems and improve methods.
• Inspects progress to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Prepares or receives progress reports and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Ensures safety and regulatory compliance in all work.
