Job summary

Staffmark seeks a seasoned leader to direct day-to-day operations for an industrial field services and construction department. You will guide Project Managers, service reps, foremen and field crews while overseeing multiple projects and maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities include developing bids, monitoring costs, and driving safety, quality and profitability. Collaboration with Operations, Sales, Finance, and HR is essential to achieve departmental goals and growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial construction, field service, or project/operations leadership.
• Supervising field personnel and leading teams.
• Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical industrial construction.
• Experience managing multiple projects, crews, schedules, customers and priorities.
• Knowledge of estimating, bidding, project costing, and profitability.
• Understanding project scope, risk, labor requirements and cost performance.

• Lead day-to-day operations for an industrial field services/construction department.


• Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Service Representatives, Foremen, and field crews.


• Oversee multiple industrial construction and field-service projects simultaneously.


• Develop and review moderate to large project estimates and bids, evaluating scope, operational risk, quality requirements, and profitability.


• Monitor project costs and financial performance weekly and identify potential overruns before they escal


• Drive departmental performance across safety, quality, productivity, utilization, cost, profitability, and employee development.


• Maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication, jobsite visits, and service follow-up.


• Support revenue growth by identifying customer needs and helping maintain appropriate bid and sales volume.


• Ensure field teams comply with company and customer safety, quality, housekeeping, and jobsite standards.


• Develop employees through training, coaching, apprenticeship programs, and ongoing technical development.

What We're Looking For

• Strong leadership, communication, conflict-resolution, and employee-development skills.


• Trade-level technical knowledge is strongly preferred.

The client's formal qualification is somewhat flexible: it calls for demonstrated supervisory experience as a trade service representative or project engineer plus journeyman-level trade expertise, while allowing relevant technical/business education and applicable program or large-project management experience as alternatives.
