Job summary

Fineline Steel Fabrication seeks a Painter (Industrial Coatings Technician) to prepare steel surfaces and apply primers, intermediate coats and topcoats in accordance with project specs. Qualifications

• Surface preparation and application of protective/decorative coatings to steel components.
• Ensure coatings meet project specifications and finish requirements.
• Maintain required documentation for coating applications.

Responsibilities

• Surface preparation of steel using abrasive blasting where trained.
• Apply primers, intermediate coats and topcoats using spray, brush, or roller.
• Monitor environmental conditions and apply coatings to required mil thickness.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and inspect coated surfaces for defects.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and proper storage of coatings.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety procedures during coating and blasting operations.
