Job summary

Vonachen Group is seeking an Industrial Cleaner for the 2nd shift in Topeka, KS. You will help keep the facility clean, safe, and efficient by performing specialized cleaning and materials-handling tasks across the plant.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years with reliable transportation, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Training is provided for equipment such as floor scrubbers and balers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate floor cleaning equipment (scrubbers, vacuums, sweepers) to maintain clean, safe floors.
• Handle collection, transport, and disposal of waste and recyclables per plant protocols.
• Operate baler and compactor for recycling cardboard, plastics and other materials.
• Assist with mixing areas and safely handling raw materials as needed.
• Perform spill response, chemical handling support, and maintain environmental compliance.
• Conduct equipment checks and basic maintenance; report issues promptly.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across production and warehouse areas.
• Support additional plant operations and safety initiatives as directed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Vonachen Group is looking to hire an Industrial Cleaner on 2nd Shift in Topeka, KS.

The Industrial Cleaner plays a vital role in keeping our facility safe, clean, and operating efficiently. This position supports production by performing specialized cleaning, recycling, and materials-handling duties across the facility. Industrial Cleaners work with a variety of equipment and processes—from floor scrubbers to mixing support—and are essential to creating a safe, sustainable, and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuums to maintain clean and safe production floors
• Handle collection, transport, and disposal of waste and recyclable materials following plant protocols
• Operate baler and compactor equipment for recycling cardboard, plastics, and other materials
• Assist with mixing support by cleaning mixing areas and safely handling raw materials as needed
• Perform environmental tasks, including spill response, chemical handling support, and maintaining compliance with environmental standards
• Conduct equipment checks, basic maintenance, and report issues promptly
• Maintain housekeeping standards throughout production and warehouse areas
• Support additional plant operations and safety initiatives as directed
• Completing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 years or older with reliable transportation
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to safety and ability to wear required PPE
• Good communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Previous experience with industrial cleaning equipment or powered vehicles (forklift, baler, scrubber) preferred, but training provided

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Work in hot/cold environments and around industrial equipment
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed

Details:

• Full Time- Monday- Friday
• 2nd Shift
• $17.50/hr
