Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking Civil/Structural Engineers to support planning, design, and execution of industrial facility projects in Baton Rouge, LA. You will develop safe, practical, and constructible design solutions for new facilities, expansions, and equipment installations.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, and technicians throughout all project phases, ensuring designs comply with codes and client specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of five years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience.
• Experience supporting industrial facilities (refining, petrochemical, chemical, energy, or manufacturing) is preferred.
• Experience designing reinforced-concrete foundations and structural-steel systems for industrial applications.
• Experience with site development, grading, drainage, paving, stormwater systems, and earthwork design.
• Proficiency with STAAD and other structural-analysis tools.
• Professional Engineer license or progress toward licensure is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil and structural designs, calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and construction documents.
• Design foundations for equipment, vessels, tanks, pipes, structures, and packaged systems.
• Design structural-steel framing, platforms, pipe supports, access structures, stairs, ladders, and handrails.
• Perform structural analysis for gravity, wind, seismic, equipment, piping, thermal, and vibration loads.
• Evaluate existing structures for new loads, modifications, deterioration, or changes in service.
• Review surveys, geotechnical reports, subsurface information, and facility documentation.
• Coordinate loads, equipment requirements, anchor-bolt arrangements, and interfaces with vendors.
• Coordinate civil/structural design with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, and architectural teams.
• Participate in site visits, field walkdowns, and constructability reviews.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project requirements.
