Job summary

Repcon, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Boiler Maker to assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems for steam, fluids, or gases.

This role requires interpreting blueprints and working with power and hand tools to complete boilers, tanks and pressure vessels according to specifications. The candidate will perform layout, rigging, welding, testing, and field maintenance, often coordinating with crane operators and foremen.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of field experience in boiler making or related craft.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals and drawings.
• Knowledge of rigging, welding, and field fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Locates and marks reference points for columns or plates on foundation and aligns structures for boiler frame using straight edge, squares, transit, and measuring tools.
• Attaches rigging or signals crane operator to lift components to specified positions and bolts or welds sections together to form frames.
• Assembles water tubes, connects drums and headers, and aligns parts using torches, jacks, levels, wedges and turnbuckles.
• Tests assembled vessels by pumping water or gas under specified pressure and observes instruments for leaks; performs minor maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Performs work safely, follows blueprints and project rules, and assists foreman as needed.
