Job summary

McCain Foods USA, Inc. in Easton, ME seeks a Boiler and Refrigeration Technician V to operate and monitor high‑pressure boilers and related utilities in an industrial setting.

The role ensures safe, reliable heat and steam for production, supporting safety, quality and productivity objectives. The position requires Maine boiler operator license, a high school diploma or GED, and prior industrial/mfg experience.

Qualifications

• Valid State of Maine Boiler Operator’s License required prior to placement.
• Required to read and interpret safety procedures and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to use touch-screen control systems and Infinity Database software.
• Physical ability to operate forklifts and move equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, start, run, and shut down high‑pressure boilers and refrigeration systems.
• Read gauges, maintain steam pressure, water levels, and operating conditions.
• Inspect boilers, freezer tunnels, cooling towers, and related equipment.
• Perform water chemistry testing and assist with feed water/fuel treatments.
• Lubricate and check fluid levels; follow maintenance schedules.
• Monitor systems via manual controls and computerized platforms.
• Conduct daily sanitation and downtime cleaning.
• Follow safety requirements and PPE procedures; report unsafe conditions.
• Support SQCDP initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People.
