Job summary

Crown Battery Corporation in Fremont, Ohio is seeking an IND Battery Assembler for the 2nd shift to assemble industrial batteries and ensure produced parts meet specifications. You will connect cells in series/parallel and use a hand torch to fuse intercells and cell buttons.

The role requires following policies, reporting non-conformities, maintaining safety, and adhering to Crown Quality System standards. The job involves physical labor and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience with safety and environmental training.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast paced setting.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to use some hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow policies, procedures and instructions.
• Identify and report product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
• Support implementation of corrective/preventative and improvement actions.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
• Proper housekeeping of the work area.
• Follow plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures including the proper use of PPE.
• Use the battery assembly diagram to figure out layout of the battery.
• Place intercells on the cells in proper order. Use a hand torch to burn remaining intercells and cell button together.
• Examine work order for any special items.
• Responsible for measuring cable layout and length. Make the cables with proper lead head and install onto the battery.
• Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
