Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS/EE/CE/Automation)
• 3+ years of software development or automation experience
• Experience with SQL databases, APIs, networking, and equipment communication interfaces
• Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment, PLCs, robotics, vision systems, or industrial control systems
• Experience integrating with MES or factory information systems
• Familiarity with Git version control
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Ability to support commissioning on the manufacturing floor

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Integrate automation equipment with PLCs, robots, vision systems, sensors, databases, MES, and other systems.
• Develop interfaces using OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, or similar.
• Create software for equipment monitoring, production tracking, and data collection.
• Troubleshoot software, communication, database, and equipment integration issues.
• Collaborate with engineers to create standardized software architectures.
• Support database development and integration using SQL and relational DBs.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools for real-time visibility.
• Participate in installation, commissioning, validation, and launches.
• Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, utilization, quality, and labor efficiency.
• Maintain software docs, source control, and change-management records.
• Support cybersecurity, backups, and recovery for automation apps.
• Provide training to engineering, maintenance, and production teams.
• Collaboration with global Lite-On teams and vendors on projects
