Job summary

Ralliant in Chandler, Arizona is seeking an Industrial Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain PLC/HMI software and PC-based applications for production equipment.

You will integrate Ignition SCADA, machine vision, and AI-enabled inspection tools, work with IT and engineering, and own software on the manufacturing floor.

This onsite role requires about five years of programming experience and the ability to travel approximately 5% to other sites.

Qualifications

• Approximately five years of relevant programming experience, including PLC programming and PC-based application development.
• Bachelor's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent demonstrated technical experience.
• Hands-on experience programming or integrating hardware, industrial equipment, or test systems beyond classroom-only projects.
• Ability to work onsite in Chandler, Arizona, and travel approximately 5% to other company sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve PLC programs and HMI applications for production equipment and new automation systems.
• Develop and maintain PC-based applications for custom electrical test equipment, including integration with existing hardware interfaces and software libraries.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and convert legacy software applications, including VB.NET/.NET environments.
• Translate end-user needs and equipment concepts into software requirements and working solutions; investigate ambiguous requests and apply sound engineering judgment.
• Integrate production and test equipment with systems used to collect and communicate manufacturing data, including Ignition SCADA deployment support.
• Coordinate with IT on computers, software interfaces, and systems deployed to the production floor.
• Provide software expertise and escalation support to equipment personnel who lead frontline production-equipment troubleshooting.
• Participate in equipment qualification and user training for new or modified systems.
• Manage assigned programming work independently and communicate progress and decisions to cross-functional partners.
