Actalent is seeking a Field Service Technician to support installation, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of custom industrial automation equipment at customer facilities. The role demands up to 60% travel, primarily in the U.S.

with one international trip per year, and a competitive hourly pay range. The successful candidate will install, troubleshoot, and service sophisticated automation equipment, read schematics, and train customers on operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of field service or technician experience with industrial automation equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Industrial maintenance, millwright work, field service, machine building, or similar hands-on environments.
• Strong communication and customer interface skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair industrial automation equipment.
• Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and service calls.
• Support equipment startups, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Complete detailed service reports and communicate findings with customers and internal teams.
