Job summary

Woodward is seeking an Industrial Engineer II in Fort Collins, CO to support manufacturing with mechanical design of automated systems. You will develop machine concepts, BOMs, and drawings, while helping define the design process and mentoring peers.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve production flow, equipment performance, and operator efficiency, contributing to Woodward’s energy control solutions strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design of automation systems.
• Ability to create bills of materials, detailed drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Mentor and share knowledge with newer engineers to raise design capability.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing operations through the mechanical design and implementation of automated systems.
• Develop machine concepts, designs, layouts, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs for automation projects.
• Define and improve the department's mechanical design workflow from concept through release.
• Collaborate with controls engineers, programmers, and electrical designers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote CAD best practices and documentation standards.
• Review engineering deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with standards.
• Analyze production flow to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
