Job summary

Prysmian Group in Alabama seeks an Automation & Controls Technician to maintain and improve PLC/HMI programs, troubleshoot live equipment, and support manufacturing operations on the plant floor.

You will collaborate with maintenance, ensure safety with lockout/tagout, and contribute to reliability, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement within a dynamic, industrial environment.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years hands-on experience in industrial automation and PLC-based controls.
• Experience troubleshooting live electrical circuits on 480V preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout practices.
• Ability to work on the manufacturing floor with production and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize PLC and HMI programs for production lines.
• Provide automation support and rotating off-hours coverage.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues on the plant floor.
• Inspect, install, calibrate and maintain electrical systems and automation equipment.
• Support commissioning and startup of new manufacturing equipment.
