Job summary

JBS USA is seeking an Alvey Technician in Grand Island, NE to maintain and repair conveyor systems and plant-wide automation equipment. You will troubleshoot sensors, controls, printers, scales, and metal detectors while supporting barcode systems and HMI software.

The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work independently, and good English communication skills. A high school diploma or GED is required; college/technical training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• College or technical training is preferred.
• Experience with automation, controls, or electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Alvey conveyor and automation systems, including sensors, controls, and communication devices.
• Diagnose and repair printers and labelers (direct and thermal transfer).
• Diagnose and repair industrial scales in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Install and troubleshoot metal detection systems.
• Program and maintain HMI software (Wonderware, RSView).
• Install and diagnose variable-frequency drives (VFDs) and servo drives.
• Work with AC and DC electrical systems for equipment repair and installation.
• Perform component-level electronics troubleshooting (preferred).
• Support barcode printing and scanning systems.
• Complete assigned projects and respond to production support needs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
