Job summary

StrataTech Education Group is seeking an Automation and Process Controls Instructor to deliver our pre-developed program curriculum to current technicians in Phoenix. You will lead classroom and lab sessions, ensure safety compliance, and adapt to adult learners while maintaining high technical standards.

Role emphasizes PLC programming, hydraulic/pneumatic labs, and sensor wiring, with responsibility for lab setup, documentation, and client-facing professionalism in a dynamic training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus related field experience required.
• Five+ years of hands-on field experience in the technical discipline within the past ten years.
• Proficiency with PLC systems— Allen-Bradley MicroLogix or ControlLogix preferred.
• Knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, and sensor wiring.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in industrial/DC maintenance environments.
• NFPA 70E and OSHA 10 certification.
• Proficiency with basic digital tools including documentation platforms and learning management systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum in classroom and lab with technical accuracy.
• Follow curriculum as designed; no substitutions without approval.
• Adapt delivery to adult learners with varying experience while maintaining content pace.
• Prepare for each session; ensure attendance and progress documentation.
• Identify and assist students who are struggling.
• Set up and manage the lab; enforce safety and PPE protocols.
• Reset lab to full operation after each cohort.
• Maintain a professional lab environment reflecting pride and compliance.
• Hold students to program standards; provide actionable feedback.
• Represent StrataTech professionally to clients and escalate issues as needed.
• Deliver PLC programming and troubleshooting labs; read ladder logic; read faults.
• Instruct on VFD installation, parameter setting, fault diagnosis.
• Deliver sensor identification and IO-Link labs with various sensors.
• Deliver hydraulic/pneumatic labs emphasizing PM procedures and fault isolation.
• Cover conveyor system maintenance including tensioning and drive inspection.
• Instruct on power transmission and shaft alignment; bearing inspection.
• Deliver PLC-integrated conveyor system and motion control troubleshooting.
• Deliver fluid power labs with circuit construction and fault isolation.
